FinTech degrees combine finance with technology: payments, data analytics, blockchain and digital banking. This guide explains what these degrees are, the four colleges at the heart of it (KES Shroff and Nagindas Khandwala in Mumbai, HL College in Ahmedabad and Marwadi University in Rajkot), how admission works, and other options across India and in Tamil Nadu.
Please note
Fees are approximate and every programme is merit based, so check each college site. Dates for 2027 are tentative; this guide is current as of October 8, 2026.

What Is FinTech?
Financial technology uses software, data and the internet to deliver and automate financial services. A FinTech degree prepares students to work where finance and software meet.
| Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Payments | UPI, wallets, cards, cross-border transfers |
| Lending | Digital loans and credit scoring |
| Wealth tech | Investing apps and robo-advice |
| Insurtech | Digital insurance and claims |
| RegTech | Compliance and risk automation |
| Blockchain | Digital assets and settlement |

FinTech UG Degrees
| Degree | What it is (examples) | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| B.Com (FinTech) | Commerce base with IT and finance; e.g. KES Shroff, Bishop Heber, Noorul Islam | 3 years (4 with honours) |
| B.Sc (Finance & Technology / Analytics) | Science-style degree with finance, data and programming; e.g. Nagindas Khandwala, HL College B.S. | 3 years (4 with honours) |
| B.Sc IT in FinTech (Hons.) | IT degree with a FinTech focus; e.g. Marwadi University | 3–4 years |
| BBA (FinTech) | Management degree with FinTech specialisation; e.g. CMR, Chitkara, Vels, HITS | 3 years (4 with honours) |
| B.Tech FinTech | Engineering route for software-heavy FinTech roles; e.g. ADYPU Pune | 4 years |
| Adjacent degrees | B.Com, BBA, Economics, Statistics, Data Science and CS can also lead to FinTech | 3–4 years |
The four college programmes carry different names: B.Sc in Finance & Technology, B.S. in FinTech, B.Sc IT in FinTech (Hons.) and B.Sc Finance & Analytics with FinTech specialisation. Colleges name the degree differently (B.Com, B.Sc, B.S., BBA, B.Tech), so look at the syllabus rather than the label. Typical duration is 3 years; under NEP many universities also offer a 4-year honours option (KES Shroff lists 8 semesters and 176 credits). Verify duration and recognition on each college site.

| CUET-UG | Some universities, such as Takshashila, accept CUET along with Class 12 marks. CUET-UG registration is expected in January to February 2027 for colleges that accept it. |
| TNGASA | Government arts and science colleges admit B.Com on Class 12 merit via tngasa.in (merit counselling); check whether a FinTech option exists. |
Merit matters
A strong Class 12 score in Maths, Accountancy or Computer Science helps in every route. Most FinTech degrees are self-financed and admit directly; always confirm each college’s application process and whether it is UGC recognised and affiliated.
